Contract Renewed!

It's always a relief to get a contract renewal, even when I'm expecting one. This time round, there was the added complication of budget cuts (in the hope of luring an American firm into a merger). With this extension somewhat unexpected, and for six months, it's a double-relief I guess. My boss said, "you're doing a lot of good work for us", which had me baffled. Then again, he hasn't been round all that much. Now, I just need to work out if I want to stay in I.T., or do something else when I grow up.

More London Snow

So many Brits hate the snow. With just the smallest amount of snow, the country's incredibly fragile transport infrastructure can grind to a halt. I just don't understand why this is the case, when countries like Canada experience more extreme temperatures and yet still manage to run the trains.

Anyhow, as previously blogged, I LOVE the snow. The prospect of snow is one of the few pleasures of London's bitter winter months. This year we've had two significant dumpings. The most recent, yesterday, was the heaviest snowfall in many years. In Clerkenwell where I live, there was several inches, which is quite remarkable given the area's proximity to the City. There were still some small unmelted banks of snow this morning, when I left for work!

I raced around yesterday morning and captured more photos. Check out the snow on the dome of St Paul's.
