More London Snow

So many Brits hate the snow. With just the smallest amount of snow, the country's incredibly fragile transport infrastructure can grind to a halt. I just don't understand why this is the case, when countries like Canada experience more extreme temperatures and yet still manage to run the trains.

Anyhow, as previously blogged, I LOVE the snow. The prospect of snow is one of the few pleasures of London's bitter winter months. This year we've had two significant dumpings. The most recent, yesterday, was the heaviest snowfall in many years. In Clerkenwell where I live, there was several inches, which is quite remarkable given the area's proximity to the City. There were still some small unmelted banks of snow this morning, when I left for work!

I raced around yesterday morning and captured more photos. Check out the snow on the dome of St Paul's.

I haven't ever seen snowfall in my life until that day. I told my boss about my wish to spent time in snow and he gladly agreed. Through out the day I was taking photos. It was a wonderful experience to me. I wish if it would snow again.

It was a wonderful snowfall that day last year. Were you in London in April 2008 when it snowed again? I wrote a post about it too. I didn't know of the forecast for snow, so it came as a total shock to me when I emerged from a nightclub to find snow falling!
